October 31, 2008, Lund, Sweden
Sweden Technology Fast 50 is a ranking of Sweden’s fastest-growing companies in a wide range of technological fields, from IT to life science. Jolife, which develops and manufactures the LUCAS Chest Compression System for treating cardiac arrest patients, is ranked 24th in the latest ranking, presented last week.
Erik von Schenck, CEO of Jolife AB, commented:
“We expect to continue growing steadily. Feedback from our customers confirms that our breakthrough technology meets a real need in resuscitation therapy. The LUCAS Chest Compression System – which standardizes and improves the quality of chest compressions – has proved itself to be safe, effective and feasible in both pre-hospital care and in-hospital settings. Having previously concentrated on Europe, we are now fully focused on the largest potential market in the world, the US.”
The Sweden Technology Fast 50 award is organized by Deloitte and the Swedish Association for Risk Capital (Svenska Riskkapitalföreningen). About LUCAS™ CPR
The LUCAS™ Chest Compression System helps ambulance and hospital personnel to save patients suffering sudden cardiac arrest. The device performs continuous chest compressions to maintain blood flow to the brain and heart. International resuscitation guidelines issued in 2005 stress the importance of effective and uninterrupted chest compressions prior to defibrillation. LUCAS performs chest compressions in accordance with these guidelines, without risking quality variations or tiring out personnel. The device also allows safe transportation and simultaneous defibrillation and angiography.
